The number of roaches in Chicago has exploded since the city declared a state of emergency following the 2010 outbreak of the highly contagious flu.
Now the roaches have been spotted on the walls of the Rose Garden, the White House and even the Chicago Bears’ locker room.
The roaches also have a foothold in a restaurant in Chicago’s Bronzeville neighborhood, where some restaurants have banned food service workers from touching the food.
The Chicago Tribune reports that roach infestations in Chicago have soared in recent years.
Last year, a Chicago man was found with 100 roaches crawling on his skin in his hotel room.
The roaches were caught by a cleaning company and sent to a lab for testing.
The lab tested them again and the results showed that most of the roach population had been eradicated, according to the Tribune.
The number of cases in Chicago rose to 558 from 526 in 2010.
