The city of Asheville is famous for the wild and scenic nature of the region, but its biggest draw is a population of deer, a large and diverse species of mammals that has made it a national tourist destination.
According to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, there are currently about 25,000 white-tailed deer in North Carolina, making it the most common deer species in the state.
This number is expected to increase as the deer population increases.
