A Nashville restaurant that’s been a hot spot for families and singles in recent years will be closing down its doors on July 31, The Tennessean reported on Thursday.
The restaurant, The Big Top, was named a top-rated eatery by the AJC in 2016 and 2017.
Its main menu features burgers, steaks, seafood, salads and desserts.
Its owner, Jim Tresnowski, told the AJCP in an email that the restaurant’s closure is a bittersweet decision.
“After 20 years of running this restaurant and my family, we feel that it’s time for me to go,” he wrote.
“The Big Top has been a wonderful place to visit and one that has welcomed a great number of people and families.
Our vision for the future of the restaurant is to continue to evolve and add to the atmosphere of the neighborhood, while continuing to be an integral part of Nashville’s dining culture.”
The Big T’s new location, at 1401 E. Main St., is slated to open in 2020.
The location will offer a menu of burgers, steak, seafood and salads, according to the AJCC.
It will also feature a full bar, live music, an outdoor patio and more.
“We’re excited to open this new space in 2020 and welcome more families to the neighborhood,” TresNowski said.
The Big Tip is a Nashville-based chain of eateries and restaurants in Tennessee.
The company operates in more than 30 states, including Tennessee.
It currently has more than 2,700 restaurants in the U.S. The new location will be located in Nashville’s former home of the historic First Tennessee Brewery.
