Searching for the perfect place to watch the next Big Ten football game isn’t that hard, but the question of whether you’ll find it in Utah is.
The state is home to several of the nation’s top attractions, including the Big Ten’s football championship game and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir’s annual concert.
And there’s also the Utah Jazz, who have been a consistent winner in the state since they were a scrappy team of college basketball newcomers that was recently relocated to Salt Lake City.
But the state’s attractions are still overshadowed by the NFL, which plays in the nation with a staggering 11 Super Bowls and has a thriving local TV and movie industry.
In fact, Utah has a whopping 4,000 acres of undeveloped land that has been used as open space for recreation and is the perfect location for a new NFL stadium.
And it could be that one of the biggest issues that NFL owners have had with Utah is the fact that they don’t like football fans.
The NFL and Utah have been embroiled in a bitter feud over the state, and the NFL has consistently refused to allow players to practice in Utah.
But Utah is a fertile recruiting ground for the NFL in recent years, and several NFL teams have made visits to the state over the years, including New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons.
In 2018, the NFL announced that it had been looking to move into the state and build a new stadium in Salt Lake.
It was only after a lot of back and forth with the NFL that the Utah Department of Economic Development and Tourism agreed to a deal that would see the state get $25 million over 10 years to purchase land in the Salt Lake County area for the project.
And the deal included the option of using the money to build a football stadium in the area.
In 2019, the deal was signed by the state legislature and the land deal was finalized.
The stadium plan is still in the works and could be approved this summer.
The biggest question surrounding the stadium proposal is what the NFL would be willing to pay for the land.
That’s a huge concern for NFL owners because if the NFL can’t get a stadium in Utah, it will make it difficult for the league to get a franchise in any other state, including California.
And a lack of interest in a new facility for the sport in the United States has led to a decline in interest from potential NFL owners in other states, as well.
There are still plenty of hurdles to clear, but with a $25-million price tag on the land, it seems like it could happen.
